The Apple Loft
Apple Loft is one of three holiday properties recently refurbished by the owners of this working dairy farm just a few miles from the village of Colyton close to the Devon/Dorset border and only about 20 minutes drive from Lyme Regis. Set on a working farm in stunning countryside only a short drive from the magnificent Jurassic coast, the cottage is beautifully converted from an old apple store, is located in an impressive Victorian courtyard and has been lovingly refurbished to provide stylish holiday accommodation in a truly idyllic rural setting. Built as an 'upside down' cottage, to take advantage of the beautiful rural views, the Apple Loft has a king size bedroom and separate bathroom on the ground floor, with an open plan living area on the first floor. The character of the original building has been preserved with a vaulted ceiling, giving a spacious feel. The living area includes a modern fitted kitchen with dining and a lounge area that includes a cosy wood burner. The inclusion of a comfortable sofa-bed allows the cottage to be used to accommodate a small family or two single people holidaying together as well as couples. A table and chairs in the courtyard at the front of the cottage provides somewhere to sit outside and relax and for those seeking a quiet spot in which to sit and read or enjoy some al fresco dining, there is a private patio area at the rear of the cottage.
The farm is surrounded by lush countryside and overlooks a peaceful rural valley and there is access to a tennis court and a games barn (including table tennis and a full size snooker table) that is shared with the two other holiday properties on the farm site. For those wanting to experience a working farm at first hand the owners are happy to arrange a visit to the milking parlour. The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking and the beautiful coast, famous for its fossil beaches is just 5 miles away.
