Jay's Hatch

The property

This beautiful ground floor cottage is situated next to the owners' home, in the grounds of their family-run smallholding in a peaceful setting, close to the village of Leintwardine in Shropshire.

A 1.5-acre wildlife and fishing pool is surrounded by six acres of pastureland, with the setting a haven for wildlife and animal lovers as the owners' raise pigs, chickens, geese and ducks. They also have goats, miniature Shetland ponies and a Welsh Cob pony which they ride. In the spring of 2017 they will be taking delivery of a miniature donkey cross and hopefully one of their goats will be kidding. There are always baby lambs to bottle feed during the spring as well. You have the freedom to walk around the grounds and interact with the animals which are all very affectionate and approachable.

Jay's Hatch has been lovingly restored and offers cosy accommodation which includes a warm and welcoming sitting room with woodburning stove and a fully equipped kitchen.

Special touches, such as the bamboo flooring throughout and exposed beams, make this a unique holiday cottage.

The double bedroom has doors to the rear garden, with the other offering adult-sized bunk beds.

Outside your patio, overlooking the lake, boasts a sauna making an ideal place to sit and relax after a day exploring this unspoilt area, and a hot tub, from where the dark skies are ideal for star gazing.

The village of Leintwardine offers a Grade II listed parlour pub and a pub/restaurant. There is also another restaurant in the village. The local garage has a great shop which stocks everything you could need.

Within driving distance is the market town of Ludlow with its 500 listed buildings, festivals throughout the year and numerous shops, pubs, restaurants and tea rooms.

Also in the area are a number of attractions, such as the World Heritage Site at Ironbridge and Severn Valley Railway

We are also able to offer holiday livery facilities within a 10 minute drive. From there you can receive qualified tutoring and fantastic forest rides from the doorstep.
