Description
A rustic walkway of stone steps meanders up to the shepherd hut through lush tropical vegetation which, when lit up in the evening, feels utterly magical. A large wooden decked terrace to the front of the hut creates the perfect private outdoor space where guests can laze in the sunshine or unwind with a G&T as dinner sizzles away on the BBQ.
Inside, the space is fabulously equipped and feels warm and inviting. Wood panelling and verdant views from its windows lend an away-from-it-all atmosphere, with the bedroom, dining area, kitchen and separate shower room all being thoughtfully laid out to give guests complete comfort.
The surrounding area has so much to offer. Polgoon Vineyard is a three-minute drive from Buryas Bridge and makes for a lovely place to taste locally produced wines or juices from their orchards, while Trewidden house and garden lie on the doorstep. Just five minutes away lies Newlyn with its brilliant restaurants and vibrant local art scene. Continue along the coast to Penzance and discover a fabulous, heated lido as well as historic architecture, or head in the other direction to Mousehole – one of Cornwall’s prettiest villages – where cobbled streets, sea views and delicious seafood lunches await. The South West Coast Path runs close by, with the walk from Mousehole to Lamorna Cove especially beautiful, while the National Trust-owned Trengwainton Garden (just ten minutes away) offers a peaceful stroll through its lush grounds and is ideal for guests with dogs in tow.
A little further afield, the white sands and turquoise waters of Porthcurno beckon, where you can visit the world-famous Minack Theatre, carved dramatically into the cliffs and overlooking the ocean.
This property is one of four hideaways within our Buryas Bridge collection. All four can be booked together for group stays.
