Speedwell Cottage has been lovingly restored to offer spacious and comfortable accommodation for up to six guests. Perfectly located in the picturesque New Forest village of Woodgreen, the cottage has direct Forest access and offers walking and cycling routes right from the front gate!
Inside, a comfortable lounge with squishy sofa, large window seat overlooking the garden and wood burning stove has room for everyone to relax whatever the season. The spacious dining kitchen is the real heart of the home; a sociable open plan space for mealtimes including a snug area with sofa for bird-spotting! Upstairs there are three restful bedrooms, each with flexible bed configurations to make the most of the space. The family bathroom has a wonderful roll top bath and separate shower enclosure and there is an en-suite shower room to bedroom three.
Outside the tranquil front garden has an area of lawn for family games or relaxed dining, and seasonal shrubs give pockets of colour under the dappled shade of mature trees. An enclosed courtyard to the rear can be accessed from the dining kitchen or the side gate.
The pretty village of Woodgreen is within a mile of the cottage, with a glorious open green home to grazing New Forest ponies, donkeys and cattle. The local pub is extremely popular for drinks and dining and the award-winning community shop stocks all your holiday essentials, along with local produce. Within a 10-minute drive is the picturesque town of Fordingridge, with its medieval bridge spanning the River Avon, and a selection of shops, boutiques, pubs and café’. Other local attractions include the New Forest Water park, Breamore House and the Dorset Heavy Horse Farm, plus the glorious beaches of the south coast beyond. This beautiful part of the New Forest National Park offers a quieter non-tourist destination for your stay.
